Clinics/Camps

MARFU Policy (applicable for the EPRU, PRU and VRU), effective January 1, 2004:
All clubs (men's & women's clubs, men's & women colleges, boys' & girls' high school teams) will be required to have as a coach an individual that has taken a USA Rugby Coach Development Program clinic (CDP); the only exception is Youth (defined as an Under-15 team). After January 2004, a club that has not had an individual attend aUSAR CDP would be denied a referee. In lieu of this 2004 requirement (for a new coach-only), the club must have their coach registered at the next MARFU sponsored clinic; if the coach fails to attend the clinic, referees will not be assigned and any referees already assigned will be re-allocated.

Traditional Camp: July 12-15
Combined Camp: July 10-15

In its eleventh year and running from July 10th through July 15th, the East Stroudsburg Rugby Player Development Camp is pleased to announce a new 7’s Camp in addition to their traditional camp. Registration has also been expanded to include junior high students, as well as high school and college males and females. Air conditioned housing is also being offered!

The camp is once more being sponsored by Rugby Imports (rugbyimports.com), avid provider of authentic rugby gear, apparel, and team-wear.

The camp continues a revered tradition of promoting the sport of rugby and educating young rugby athletes with a curriculum designed to expose participants to higher levels of coaching. This fosters the development of both individual and team skills as taught by the camp’s exceptional staff including USA Rugby certified coaches, National Team coaches, athletes, and instructors.

Benefits that campers will receive include: an official Camp Jersey & T-shirt, sessions on the Predator Training Machine, instruction by USA Rugby’s best Coaches and Instructors, a complete Player Profile Evaluation, an opportunity to measure him/herself against other players in their region and be evaluated by National level coaches for possible higher honors, college advisement, position-specific work/unit & team skills, and access to certified athletic trainers.

Also, teams who attend the camp together will benefit from team-building opportunities. Players will be able to work on individual growth as well as strategies to help the squad work together as an effective unit. The player development camp is a great way to bring teammates together in a learning environment to gain essential success skills. Team discounts are available.

The comprehensive schedule includes “skills & drills”, chalkboard work, video analysis, and meals culminating with scrimmages observed by family and friends.

The camp will be held at East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania on July 10-15th. Further details, registration information, fees, etc. can be found at the NEW website:
